            Review

As a Sifl and Olly supporter hopefully I can comment on the seasons objectively. To be honest I can see why MTV decided to pull the plug on season 3.

The 1st season was an absolute gold mine and it seems they put all their best material in it. Why they didn't continue with the music videos who knows. When MTV2 last year showed the first two episodes along with the music from the Beastie Boys, BareNaked Ladies, Beck, and even the Flag Pole Sitter song it took me back to being 21\22 again.

Season 2- While there were some clever episodes it wasn't as funny. It was almost as if the 'dudes didn't really expect to be carried for another season and suddenly had to come up with some new material. Another trend I didn't like was what they were doing with Olly.

            -Spoilers-

Season 3- After waiting to get my tape in the mail I was disappointed in the end. The only flash of the original inspiration was the bit about replacing George Washington's portrait on a dollar bill with some dude with his vet. The only other part I remember being funny was the "old west" skit where one of them summons their pet "giant, fire breathing bat". However what I really didn't like how they turned Olly into one of the weird characters. It actually seemed as if Steath had replace him as one of the focused characters along with Sifl and Chester. Unfortunatly watching the 3rd season reminded me of some kid strungout on sugar.

I'm a big fan of the show so hopefully you do think I'm trolling. But it seems that each of these of this highly unique form of comedy like MST3K and the Farside is really a limited resource.

a year later, i have come to debunk! season 1 had NO music videos, so anything you see that has videos included was from season 2, when they moved it to pseudo primetime (7 pm on fridays!?) and added those f'n videos, which completely interrupted the flow of the show. i think they also eliminated rock facts and they definitely changed the precious roy intro to a much worse-looking and stupid warning about mtv not being responsible for the products or whatever.

i'd say season 2 trumps season 1 in quality.

haven't seen season 3 yet, though i should be getting it online soooon.

Actually that's supposed to be "don't think I'm trolling". Now I know why you guys hate me.

Anyway sorry for not remember the exact lineup of the show 8 years ago, I was going on the episodes shown on MTV2. I assumed that they were showing the series as it was and that I had simply forgotten about the videoes.

However I do remember how "cresent fresh" the 1st season was. And I remember that the second season seemed to lose a little of it's edge. The 3rd video felt like it was straining itself.

I bought mine at the Official Sifl and Olly website a couple of years ago. I haven't been there in a while.

        Yeah, since they're bootlegs =P
It's like when people "fansub" anime before it comes out in the states and make DVD's and sell them. Bad quality, usually.

they were a gift, so I dont know where they came from. And allthough they are copies, the quality is good and the packaging is decent.

Last I heard, the official site wasnt doing too terribly well.

Yeah I think Matt and Liam just ditched Sifl & Olly completely. The site hasn't been updated in a long time, probably abandoned. I haven't heard a thing about their musical endeavors either. Maybe they gave up. Or maybe they'll make a triumphant comeback as this era's greatest rock band ever. Who knows?
